What it is?
Grape fruit diet has an unknown origin but has been there since 1930’s.
Also known as Mayo diet and Hollywood diet, it is based on a magical enzyme supposed to be present in grape fruit which when taken with protein starts the fat burning process. It has been planned to help people lose weight in short time.
Most of the versions of diet plan promise 5 pound loss in 5 days or 10 pound loss in 10 days.
General plan
This diet plan continues for 12 days and if you want to continue it further a 2 days off is recommended. Main rules to follow are:
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day
- Breakfast: ½ grapefruit or juice + 2 eggs + black coffee + bacon (2 slices)
- Lunch: ½ grapefruit or juice + meat + salad
- Dinner: ½ grapefruit or juice + meat/fish + vegetables
- Bed time: milk or tomato juice as you like
- Vegetables to be avoided are potatoes, white onions, celery
- In each meal try to full yourself
- Don’t eat between the meals
- Don’t skip anything from combination
- Grapefruit is most important
- You can use butter but avoid sugar and starch
