Acomplia (rimonabant) is one of therapeutic agents called Cannabinoid-1 Receptor Blockers (CB1). Acomplia is used in treatments of obesity and similar conditions.
Important note: Acomplia is fit for patients who suffer from Type 2 diabetes and abnormal levels of fat in the blood. Acomplia prevents the risk of cardiovascular disease. Acomplia is most beneficial in people with large waist circumference (102 cm in men and 88 cm in women).
You surely know Acomplia is best combined with proper diet and exercise. In order to help you observe whether Acomplia is the right product for you, we’ll try to further explain how it works.
Acomplia selectively blocks CB1 receptors found in the brain and in peripheral organs important in glucose and fat metabolism - including adipose tissue, the liver, gastrointestinal tract and muscles.
The CB1 receptors are part of the endocannabinoid (EB) system. It has been recently discovered and explored. It is involved in regulating energy balance, sugar/fat metabolism and body weight.
So, the blockade should decrease your need to eat caloric food.
Here are some results of clinical trials: over one year 33% of patients lost more than 10% of their initial weight and nearly two thirds lost over 5%. Note that patients were placed on a calorie controlled diet during the trial, but they still lost significantly more weight than the control group prescribed only a calorie controlled diet. Patients who took the drug for another year didn’t regain lost weight. However, since there is no data to show the contrary, we may assume that once patients stop taking the drug completely, the weight will be regained.
If you choose Acomplia, don’t forget it is of essential importance to stay loyal to your diet, impose regular exercise program and – don’t cheat! - Or you won’t attain the wanted outcome!
